Plot Summary

Sonny Crockett is an undercover cop for the Miami Vice department, using the name Sonny Burnett. He's separated from his wife and their six-year-old son and lives on a yacht names "St. Vitus' Dance" with his pet alligator named Elvis. Ricardo Tubbs is a New York street cop who visits Miami on an unscheduled mission to avenge the murder of his brother, a policeman killed in a cocaine transaction by a Colombian smuggler named Calderone. Tubbs poses as a Jamaican looking for cocaine, and he and Crockett become unwilling partners as the both pursue Calderone. When Crockett realises his ex-partner and friend is leaking information to Calderone he forces him to expose the smuggler's plans. But after the smuggler is captured, the two detectives discover a judge has released Calderone on a $2 million bail.
